LARGE DUMMY LOAD FOR TESTING ELECTRIC POWER TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS
Resistive load bank; Reactive load bank; Capacitive load bank; Capactive Load Banks; Load Bank; Resistive Load Banks; Load Banks; Capactive load banks; Reactive Load Banks; Capactive load bank
  • Multiple resistive load banks connected in a network to simulate data center server rack heat conditions.
  • An air-cooled load bank, being used for acceptance testing of a 3000 kW standby diesel generator set. This is one of three banks used to load the generator to verify performance on load changes and for factory run-in.
  • An operator controlling a resistive 200kW load bank being used to test a diesel generator.
  • Capacitor bank.

-load
(-loads)
-load combines with nouns referring to a vehicle or container to form nouns that refer to the total amount of something that the vehicle or container mentioned can hold or carry.
The first plane-loads of food, children's clothing and medical supplies began arriving.
...a lorry-load of sheep on their way across Europe.
COMB in N-COUNT
Load (computing)
  • [[htop]] displaying a significant computing load (top right: ''Load average:'')
AMOUNT OF COMPUTATIONAL WORK PERFORMED
Load average; Unix load average; System load; Load Averages; Load averages; Load Average; System load average; Load times; Loadavg; IOtop (Unix); Load (Unix)
In UNIX computing, the system load is a measure of the amount of computational work that a computer system performs. The load average represents the average system load over a period of time.
Dummy load
  • Four heavy duty dummy loads used at an amplifier shootout
  • Microwave dummy load designed to attach to [[waveguide]].
DEVICE USED TO SIMULATE AN ELECTRICAL LOAD
Electronic load; Electronic Load; Dummy antenna
A dummy load is a device used to simulate an electrical load, usually for testing purposes. In radio a dummy antenna is connected to the output of a radio transmitter and electrically simulates an antenna, to allow the transmitter to be adjusted and tested without radiating radio waves.

Load bank

A load bank is a piece of electrical test equipment used to simulate an electrical load, to test an electric power source without connecting it to its normal operating load. During testing, adjustment, calibration, or verification procedures, a load bank is connected to the output of a power source, such as an electric generator, battery, servoamplifier or photovoltaic system, in place of its usual load. The load bank presents the source with electrical characteristics similar to its standard operating load, while dissipating the power output that would normally be consumed by it. The power is usually converted to heat by a heavy duty resistor or bank of resistive heating elements in the device, and the heat removed by a forced air or water cooling system. The device usually also includes instruments for metering, load control, and overload protection. Load banks can either be permanently installed at a facility to be connected to a power source when needed, or portable versions can be used for testing power sources such as standby generators and batteries. They are necessary adjuncts to replicate, prove, and verify the real-life demands on critical power systems. They are also used during operation of intermittent renewable power sources such as wind turbines to shed excess power that the electric power grid cannot absorb.

Exemplos do corpo de texto para -load

2. Forklift drivers slid load after load of electrical equipment off semi trucks.
3. None of the players in the system were happy about this on–load and off–load arrangement.
4. If you wait and use a full load for your washing machine or dishwasher you could save approximately 0.6 litres of water per person – half–load programmes use more than half the amount of water of a full load.
5. Stopping short while swinging a very heavy load could cause the same problem, as could having a big load suddenly drop off the end of the crane.
